Cannes Film Festival - PVC1

Me in CannesWell what a ride! I have just returned from Cannes Film Festival and it was such an experience! The weather was stunning, the red carpets plentiful, and the parties were non-stop.

I watched a film over there which I simply have to plug, it is called PVC1 and is by a director named Stathos Stathoulopoulos. The film is inspired by an actual event in 2000 when robbers demanded millions of pesos from a Colombian family after placing an explosive device made of PVC tubing around the mother’s neck. The film is shot in one continuous take and is 81 minutes - extraordinary. I recommend you pop along if it is ever on in your local or arthouse cinema.

Big shout to all those at Villa B - you know who you are and you all rock!

  1. Hi Claire,
My name is Kico Velarde, and I am one of the Co-Producers of PVC-1. I happen to come across your blog and noticed that had you seen our film in Cannes. It was such a nice surprise to find someone who had seen our film in Cannes and enjoyed it. I can not believe it has already been a year. Wow! I thought I’d drop a quick hello. Thank you so much for the plug and your support.

    Sincerely,
    Kico Velarde

  2. Hi Kico

    Thanks for your message!

No worries - I thought the film was truly amazing! If not a little harrowing; I felt pretty traumatized by the time I left!

I know, I can’t believe it’s been a year already - I am not going this year and am quite gutted as I really wanted to go! Still, never mind, next year calls.

    Keep up the good work!

    Take care
    Claire
